blue eyes

Well we had another fantastic weekend. Our house was flowing with visitors from Thursday afternoon until this morning and we loved every minute of it!
I got to have a girl's night Friday while daddy and B had a boy's night at home, and Justin played at the farm Saturday and went fishing with a buddy, Sunday.

Pictures of little man this weekend:
He's really starting to move and use his arms and legs - as you can see I got him while he's moving those arms around.

Big blue eyes!

Cousin time!

[Thank you to all of the wonderful mom's (and friends) who replied to my last post! I loved hearing from you and getting your advice.]

Question for Moms

Allow me to preface by saying that I am very aware that every child is different.

With that said....

Brody is 6 weeks and 2 days old. He is no longer in his bassinet by our bed; now he is sleeping in his crib. I was hoping to have him sleeping through the night by 2 months. That gives me one week and 5 days. I know, I know that could be wishful thinking for some. He is such a good baby and I was just crossing my fingers that this is a possibility, but at the same time I'm okay with waiting. I read Baby Wise -- good book. The authors mention that most PDF (parent direct feeding) babies start to sleep through the night, on their own, by 8 weeks (2 months) -- my goal! The most he's gone from feeding to feeding is 5 hours and he hasn't done that in about a week.

Please offer any suggestions that worked for you and your little one. Did your child just ON THEIR OWN start sleeping through the night? Did you offer more milk at the late night feeding? Did they wake up crying in the middle of the night/early morning and you just let them? How long do you let them cry? (I'm sort of a wuss)

Also, what is a good time to offer the last night time feeding before they hit the sack until morning? 7:30 p.m.? 8:00?

Please don't be bashful. I would love to hear what you did.

I hope my tone doesn't sound like I'm stressed about this, because I'm not at all. I'm just curious to know what works.

Because I don't like to post without a picture, here is our sleepy little man.

Weekend in Pictures

{Most of} Our weekend:
Taking a morning nap in his crib.

[During the night he still sleeps in his bassinet next to our bed, but during the day he takes naps in his crib so that we can get him use to that space before the big night switch. ]

Heading to Nan's
Fillin' out his car seat. CRAZY.

Fallin' asleep on Nan.
[This was right before we left. He stayed awake and entertained for almost 2 hours.]

#1 with the Ladies

Friday night Justin and I went to dinner with a friend who was in town while Gammy babysat B.
It was nice to get ready and go out for the evening, and even better to return home to our sweet pea.
Attempt at a family photo. B was awake up until he was placed in his daddy's arms.
I am so thankful that Justin helps me with the night shifts on Friday nights. I was so lucky to get 6 hours of straight sleep at one point Friday night/sat morning. AMAZING! I felt like a new woman Saturday when I woke up.

Saturday the weather was gorgeous and B and I went on a walk around the neighborhood. Justin ran to L.R. that afternoon to run some errands for us. While he was away B and I went over to Lolly and Pops so they could love on him! Justin surprised me that evening with SUSHI from Fresh market!

Sunday afternoon I went to a wedding shower, and B and daddy got to bond for a couple hours! Brody had on a cute little onesie that one of my mom's friends gave him so we had to get a couple pics.

I don't know what's cuter...the phrase on B's shirt or Brody staring at his daddy.

Hope you had a great weekend, as well!

1 Month

Well, our little boy has reached one month and I cannot believe it. I know I am constantly saying this, but geezz it has flown by. I'm soaking up every second with him and I treasure everyday.

Bub-

You have recently outgrown most of your newborn cloths and some of your 0-3 month cloths. Mainly because you are so long. We knew you were bound to have long legs between your daddy and me.

You weigh 8+ pounds and LOVE to eat. You let us know when it's time. It is the one thing that drives you to being extra fussy. You are currently eating 3-4 oz. every 2.5- 3 hours during the day. Sometimes mommy is lucky during the night when you go 5 hours from feeding to feeding. This has only happened a hand full of times.

You only get upset when you're hungry. You fuss a little when your tired or you're gassy. For the most part, we are very lucky/blessed.

Despite the way pictures make you look, you have the biggest, handsomest BLUE eyes.

You haven't lost any of your hair and mommy is crossing her fingers you won't. Kidding. I know it's bound to happen.

You really like your bouncy seat. AND bath time, as long as the heater is on and the water is warm. You take after me when it comes to being cold - you don't like it.

The first time we laid you on your tummy for 'tummy time' [you were 6 days old] you did NOT like it. From the second try on, you have loved it. You like to try to push up and scoot.

You enjoy peeing on momma! :)

We read at least one book per day. You are fascinated by the colors, I presume. I catch you smiling often.

You are very alert when you are awake. Constantly looking around, wide eyed.

One of my favorite things that you do right now is hold on to my finger while I'm feeding you. Daddy would say one of his favorite things is when he is reclined back in the recliner and you are laying on his chest, snoozin'.

We adore and love you so much, bug!

1 Month!
[I've ordered the monthly stickers to place on onesies, but it hasn't been delivered yet so I made a sign]

And just for kicks, here are some pictures from last Sunday before we headed to Andrea and baby Bailey's shower.

L.O.V.E the onesie he's wearinig. My MIL found it at a Boutique in LR.

He got to hang with his 'aunt' jilly!
