2 months

This is strictly for my pleasure and so that I will have it on record! :) You guys can just enjoy the cute pictures! I couldn't decide on just one.

-Bub can wear some of his 6 month Polo’s and onesies because he is SO long. The outfits are baggy in the belly area but fit length wise. All of his newborn and some of his 0-3 month cloths are boxed up.

-B eats every 3 hours during the day, and it’s starting to vary at night. Sometimes it's 6 hours, sometimes 7, and few times it was actually 8.5 hours. Eating is still his favorite. He does NOT miss a meal!
-Due to Spring Break this week, we had to go a week early for Brody’s 2 month check-up. …
· Baby boy weighs 11 lbs. 13 oz. (64th percentile) [A huge jump from his first check-up – 4th percentile] He actually weighs more like 12 lbs 2 oz. today.
· B was 23 1/2 inches long (81st percentile)
· He doesn’t have a very large head. (35th percentile)

-Bub loves to smile and try to talk. It makes our days so much fun as you can imagine. He is especially smiley and talkative in the morning until his morning nap. Justin says he makes the exact same pouty face that I make. As terrible as this may sound his pouty face is pretty stinkin' adorable.
- He started losing his hair right after his one month birthday. Just the top of his head, so he was a little bald man. Fortunately dark hair is coming back quickly.

-He is so happy during bath time. He loves the water and splashing around in it.
-He has been sleeping in his crib since his 6 week birthday.

-He continues to love his bouncy seat WITH the vibrator ON… especially when he watches Praise Baby and Baby Einstein videos. (at most, one video per day)
-We dance around quite often! Pops wants him to have rhythm. :)
Ok, I could go on and on but I need/want to play with my little love bug, so I must call it quits for now. Maybe I will resume later.

Hope you have a great weekend!!

blue eyes

Well we had another fantastic weekend. Our house was flowing with visitors from Thursday afternoon until this morning and we loved every minute of it!
I got to have a girl's night Friday while daddy and B had a boy's night at home, and Justin played at the farm Saturday and went fishing with a buddy, Sunday.

Pictures of little man this weekend:
He's really starting to move and use his arms and legs - as you can see I got him while he's moving those arms around.

Big blue eyes!

Cousin time!

[Thank you to all of the wonderful mom's (and friends) who replied to my last post! I loved hearing from you and getting your advice.]

Question for Moms

Allow me to preface by saying that I am very aware that every child is different.

With that said....

Brody is 6 weeks and 2 days old. He is no longer in his bassinet by our bed; now he is sleeping in his crib. I was hoping to have him sleeping through the night by 2 months. That gives me one week and 5 days. I know, I know that could be wishful thinking for some. He is such a good baby and I was just crossing my fingers that this is a possibility, but at the same time I'm okay with waiting. I read Baby Wise -- good book. The authors mention that most PDF (parent direct feeding) babies start to sleep through the night, on their own, by 8 weeks (2 months) -- my goal! The most he's gone from feeding to feeding is 5 hours and he hasn't done that in about a week.

Please offer any suggestions that worked for you and your little one. Did your child just ON THEIR OWN start sleeping through the night? Did you offer more milk at the late night feeding? Did they wake up crying in the middle of the night/early morning and you just let them? How long do you let them cry? (I'm sort of a wuss)

Also, what is a good time to offer the last night time feeding before they hit the sack until morning? 7:30 p.m.? 8:00?

Please don't be bashful. I would love to hear what you did.

I hope my tone doesn't sound like I'm stressed about this, because I'm not at all. I'm just curious to know what works.

Because I don't like to post without a picture, here is our sleepy little man.

Weekend in Pictures

{Most of} Our weekend:
Taking a morning nap in his crib.

[During the night he still sleeps in his bassinet next to our bed, but during the day he takes naps in his crib so that we can get him use to that space before the big night switch. ]

Heading to Nan's
Fillin' out his car seat. CRAZY.

Fallin' asleep on Nan.
[This was right before we left. He stayed awake and entertained for almost 2 hours.]
