Nan's Surprise Party

My precious grandma, Nan, had a birthday this past weekend and we just had to celebrate her! She is the heart of my dad's side of the family and truly is special. We say she will outlive us all because she is active, spunky, and full of life! I am so proud to call her my Nanaw!

Enjoy the pictures from her party at mom and dad's house....

Arriving and seeing all her family and friends shouting "surprise" "happy birthday"

Well this is most of the group - some were too hot to stand outside in the heat

Isn't she the cutest?

Some of the guests with Nan eating dinner in the dining room

Mom had pictures blown up all over the house of her when she was younger

We went up to the 'movie room' to watch a slide show my mom put together. Everyone contributed photos and it was fun to look at old pictures.

Blowing out the candles
I think she loved being the center of attention!!! :)

Halfway There

I started this post and almost forgot to mention our last doctor's visit, which was a week and a half ago. After watching our baby on the monitor as HE constantly moved around and even did a somersault, she finally confirmed that we are having a BOY. HE is going to be an active little guy!! Our doctor was laughing at his acrobatic skills. We couldn't be happier!!

~~~~~~~~~~
I'm getting a little burnt out on these "Preg Meg" updates [not to mention my weeks are so jam packed that we forget to take a picture]. So, I decided that I will update every 4 weeks/month, instead of every week.
Here we are at 20 weeks/5 months
No more bare belly pic's - I promise! Its just the only one I had taken to show my mom and J wasn't here to take one.
I cannot manage to button any of my jeans/pants - therefore I rely on my "belly band" to keep the pants up. I have yet to buy maternity cloths, although a black pair of pants is on my list of things to purchase soon.
Stats: Our little guy is the size of a small cantaloupe, about 10 ounces and 6 1/2 inches
Movement: Like I said before, he is an active little fella'! :)
Feeling: Wonderful!
Food: Bean burritos [which is interesting because my first trimester I despised Mexican food], fruit - especially oranges and bananas, and hot fries [those chips that burn your mouth].
Favorite moment of the week: Telling my students about our prince charming and hearing their excitement. My favorite comment: "Mrs. Swann, you should name him Trevor because it's the coolest name and he would be a cool kid!" - Trevor
18 weeks
It's crazy that its almost been 5 weeks since we last saw our doctor! We go back this week for a check-up, AND to confirm the sex! I love the doctors' visits because I get to hear/see our little sweetie, but I also get a bit anxious due to the blood work. I know, I'm a big baby! I passed out at our first doctors visit. :) Even crazier that we are almost to the halfway point!
So, here we are....
18 weeksI decided to pull the top tighter to better showcase my bump.
Stats: Our baby is filling out nicely and getting large enough that I might be feeling twists, rolls, kicks, and punches. Another skill our baby is mastering now is yawning and hiccupping. Our one-of-a-kind baby is truly one of a kind now, complete with unique fingerprints on his or her fingertips and toes.
Movement: Oh yeah!
Feeling: Great! I'm just exhausted by the time I get home from work. There is no time for naps, but my bedtime has moved up to 9:00-9:30. I must admit that I fell asleep at 8:30 Friday night. I'm okay with that!
Food: Food is just blah. No cravings. I'm definitely noticing an increase in appetite, though.
Buying: Those that know me, know how much I LOVE handbags (any and all sizes). It's my weakness. *I would like to take this moment to say that I have not purchased one in about 8 months - a year. I'm being frugal, people! Anyway, in my spare time (which no longer exists) I was looking for the most perfect diaper bag. I love the colorful patterns on some but I just don't want to get sick of it and wish I had something different. [Mom, I know you are nodding in agreement right now]. Well, I was reading a blog the other day and the writer/momma-to-be introduced me to what might just be the perfect diaper bag for me...and it's reasonably priced!
Have a great week! Enjoy this Labor Day weekend!
Game Day!!
Since today is the first Hog game I thought I would share our new little magnet displayed on the fridge. My MIL got this for us (among other things) and we love it!
Close up!
While we will allow our children to make their own decision as to where they will attend college, it is still fun to think they might decide to be razorbacks like their folks!
GO HOGS!!!
