2nd Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated Brody's 2nd birthday with family and friends. We had the party in the kids area at our church, and I think it was a hit with the toddlers.

It was a no brainer for me when deciding what the theme would be -- Mickey Mouse clubhouse it was.

Brody knew it was his birthday and that everyone was there for him, and this made him an enthusiastic, rambunctious, and ecstatic little boy the ENTIRE time. I don't think all the sugar helped!

Thank you, again to everyone who came to wish B a happy, happy birthday and make it so special.

We will be celebrating again this Friday on his actual birthday! More to come!

Baby GIRL

We were a bit shocked at 14 weeks when our doctor said, after looking at our sweet pea, that she was 95% certain it was a GIRL. We both thought it would be another boy. I always thought I would be a mom to boys, and I was completely happy about it.

We decided we would wait to tell everyone until 18 weeks when she confirmed it. This was SO hard for me! Usually, I'm the one who can keep a secret and I love surprises, but all I wanted to do was tell anyone and everyone. Justin, on the other hand, was okay with the wait. If you know him you know how SHOCKing this was to me.

At 18 and a half weeks she confirmed it was indeed a sweet little girl and we both lit up! I think Justin is scared to death, but he's SO excited at the same time. He only had brothers growing up, and he can only imagine how much she will have him wrapped around her finger.

As I've mentioned before, I always wanted a big brother, so I'm ecstatic for my babies to have that relationship.

We appreciate all the love and prayers we've received and I know will continue to receive. Our hearts are overjoyed.

Christmas Day

We began Christmas day at our house with our family of three (+ one on the way). I think this waking up schedule will become a yearly tradition -- me first to get everything set up, next was B, and then I had to wake up J before we got B. :) Go figure.

After doing our immediate family Christmas, we headed over to Nan's for McConnell family Christmas. Around this time is when the snow began to come down.

We left Nan's while it was snowing and trekked over to my parents house to get spoiled again.

Brody had to take breaks at each opening because it couldn't stand to not play with a toy. Needless to say, it took us awhile to open all gifts at each spot.

Most importantly, it made our Christmas to hear our little pride and joy talk about Jesus and get to start seeing him understand the real reason for the season.

Blessed indeed.
