Birthday Weekend

I started off birthday weekend by picking mom up and treating her to lunch at Oak Street Bistro (her choice, and I highly recommend it). Little did she know, some of her good girl friends would be there to surprise her. Mom was thrilled! Not everyone could make it, but we sure did have fun!

After lunch, mom wanted to go shopping around town, so that we did. It worked out perfect because her friends needed to decorate the front yard. When I dropped her back off at home, this is what we saw....

Mom is one of the last of her group of friends to turn 50, so that's why the yellow sign reads "Teresa turned 50....AT LAST, AT LAST!"
(American flags because my mom is VERY patriotic!)
They lined the driveway with pink pelicans and Hawaiian lays

The crown reads "Miss Searcy"
Later that night, after eating at Mike's Place, we went back to mom and dad's to have cake and play games.

Momma's new gorgeous ring from Diddy - He did good!

Saturday night we had another celebration to attend...Jeff, Justin's baby brother turned 25. His girlfriend, Charley, and my in-laws through him a surprise party. All of his best friends from Mississippi came down to celebrate!

As we were saying our goodbye's, Justin took a fall, and we ended up at the Emergency Room late Saturday night. All is good, though, no broken bones, he tore ligaments in his foot and had to stay off of it for a couple days and use crutches. Today he is back in action walking around but it's still sore. My tough guy.

To put it simply, my mom is selfless, confident, compassionate, and beautiful inside and out. She is the most giving person I know; she doesn't just give to give, she gives of her time and energy because she genuinely cares. One of the qualities I most admire about her, is her sense of confidence. You will never hear my mom speak an ill word about anyone. She is my role model in so many more ways, and I hope to, one day, be at least half the mom she is to me. I love you bunches, Momma! (And I love being your TWIN) :)

Memorial Weekend

We had another fabulous weekend with family and friends!

We ate dinner at La Huerta with Matt & Rachel, and Jeff & Charley.

We grilled out at my Mom and Dads. On the menu: spinach dip and sea food dip with pita chips for appetizer, chicken and fillet mignon kabobs, twice baked potato, rolls, and corn.

One afternoon we played golf with our friends, Justin and Andrea. Okay, so I didn't really play. I just contributed to J's short game (putted) and drove the cart. I need a set of clubs and a couple cute outfits before I take it serious. We had a great time AND J played good.

We visited Nonie and Papaw.

We had a great lunch at Cantina Laredo with Doug and Lisa after church.

I went to see SATC2 with my MIL and her best friend, Marlise, while Justin hung out with his dad. Lisa and Marlise thought the the movie was good; they cackled throughout the entire 2.5 hours. Other than the fashion, and a few funny moments, I didn't think it was all that.

I hate to say it, but, I did not take one picture with our camera, so all I have are a few photos from my IPhone
