The McPherson Wedding

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending a friend's wedding and reception in North Little Rock. Justin was unable to accompany me because he had to work late. I had the best time visiting and "breaking it down" with great friends!

Group picture of some of the girl's after MUCH dancing!

Riding Horses with Dad

Yesterday, my dad took me to ride horses at our family farm (land). The weather was perfect and we had a great ride!

JJ, Megan, no name, and JB
small horses - not pony's - I made the mistake of calling them pony's and Dad corrected me.
They are out of the pony phase and now small horses.

JB - named after my brother John Bryant

I can't wait to go again!

Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter

I'm Irish, hints my maiden name, McConnell, and I will use any excuse to celebrate so, here you go........

"St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time - a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic." ~Adrienne Cook

Last night I made cake cookies with icing for J to take to work with him; however, I did not have green dye (and did not want to get back out) so the cookies are topped with chocolate icing.

One of the many things I am really looking forward to when I teach is decorating my classroom (especially in conjunction with each holiday)....ahh I get excited just thinking about it!! :) The sad thing is that now-a-days you cannot bring baked goods to school for students... I guess I will just have to get my goodies from the bakery.

Tonight we are going to dinner with another couple to celebrate this fun little holiday!

Are you wearing your GREEN today?? :)

Weekend Wrap-Up

I can finally breathe...after completing a research paper, a couple midterms, a couple projects, and the Praxis II. Needless to say, I did not get to hang out much with my sweet husband this weekend because I was locked up in our home office. I did escape once to attend a baby shower for Justin's cousin (& my friend) Julie, and to take the Praxis II. I want to brag on Justin because not only did he put up with me last week and weekend when I was SO focused on school and overwhelmed at times that I was not the kindest wife, but he also toted me and his grandmother around Saturday. I say this all the time, but y'all, I lucked out with him!!

Here are the photos I took at the shower....

Some of the gifts...I just thought it was so colorful

This was the cutest little summer outfit!

Enjoy this lovely Monday!!
This is the last week of school and work before Spring Break!! :)

Kappa Girl's Weekend Invite

Yesterday, after a nice afternoon run, I decided to check the mailbox (because like most people I LOVE receiving mail). So, in the pile of mail I found an exciting card...EXCITING because 1.) it was from the lovely Amber and 2.) I kind of knew what it would be!

It was an invitation inviting us to her home in April for a Kappa (Kappa Gamma) girl's- get-together!! We started the tradition last year and had an absolute BLAST! All of us girls are spread out now, so this is a great time to get together and visit, act silly, partake in late night dance parties, eat, shop, and reminisce! I cannot wait to hang out with these girls!

Amber did such a good job creating this super cute invite!

The card was baby blue (one of the Kappa colors) and covered in plastic wrap

Open the plastic to find this sweet Emerson quote.

“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

The quote was pasted onto dark blue card stock (the other Kappa color - BLUE and BLUE)
And when you turn it over it's the actual invite on light blue card stock over the dark blue.

I am really looking forward to this weekend!!!

Hiking

We took advantage of the AMAZING weather this past weekend, and loaded up Duke (our new lab) to take him with us on a hike. Remi had to stay home this time, but don't feel sorry for her, she's been a dozen times.

J and Duke in action

Posing for a photo

This was suppose to be a family picture but Duke got shy and hid behind us.

The hike was a bit short for me so I tried to talk J into doing another trail, but he and Duke were ready to head home.
Hope you're having a fabulous Monday!

The Duke's

Friday night, we met my Dad and brothers at the (new) Conway Wampus Cat gym to watch Justin’s alma mater play my alma mater. This was our first time to experience the new arena and watch our basketball teams go head to head. Conway won – both the boys and girls teams!! Supposedly, the Conway boy’s team is nationally ranked this year!

Saturday afternoon, Justin and John Bryant went to ride horses (without me). I am still bummed that I missed out. Initially they were going to fish, but because of the wind they decided to ride horses. It was such a pretty day to ride. That night, we went on a late dinner date to eat Sushi!

Anyway, on to the main topic....The Duke's . As if we don't get confused as it is (our brothers have the same name) my parents and the Swann's each get a new dog within the last 4 months and choose the same name, DUKE. To make it less confusing we will call them, Duke Swann and Duke M.

Love the head tilt!
