Napa Valley, Day 1, Part 1

About six months ago, our friends, Matt and Rachel tried to talk us in to going with with them to San Fransisco/Napa Valley. As much fun as we thought it would be, at the time, we were trying to save some money and thought we might be going on another vacation, so we said we couldn't go. It didn't take much convincing or very long for us to realize that we had to splurge and take this trip. We are so glad that we did, and had a blast with the newly ENGAGED couple! Matt proposed the day before we got there...they had gone a few days earlier than us, with his parents. We couldn't be more thrilled for them! Now we are trying to convince them to stay in Arkansas and not move back to Georgia.

Okay, so, day one, part one. Here we go...

After Matt and Rachel picked us up at the SFO airport we headed to Napa Valley. Along the way we stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge to snap a few photos. It's so foggy. All the time.

For lunch we stopped at Paradise Bay to eat by the BAY. It was such a neat little spot to eat.

The drive was beautiful and once we made it to Napa it was time to check into our hotel and scope out where we would be staying for the next few days. [We are so thankful that Matt had been to Napa several times before with his family so he could show us the hot spots, and knew a great place to stay.]

The hotel even had swan's floating in the water...

Can you see the black swan... I had never seen a black swan before.

Up next: remainder of day one...we hit a couple vineyards, plus dinner.
